Tips For Maintaining Your Desired Pool Temperature

For pool owners, those days when you can lounge around and enjoy the water are some of the best; one of the problems with having a pool, however, is that it can be easy to throw the temperature of the water out of balance, to where the pool is no longer something you can actually enjoy! If you do not take the right approach to maintaining your desired temperature, the water ends up too cold to swim in during the spring and fall, and it ends up being too hot to swim in during the summer!

One of the first things you will need for maintaining desired pool temperature is a pool cover; the best type of pool cover to use is a solar cover, as this will allow you to heat the pool using the help of the sun, and will help you to keep the heat trapped in the water when the temperature cools at night.

When it is springtime, you will be able to raise the temperature of the pool more quickly than you would otherwise be able to by keeping the solar cover on the pool any time when it is not in use – including during the night. You should also make sure you pay attention to the weather forecast, as you will want to take the solar cover off for the summer even before you reach your desired temperature; by taking the solar cover off for good when the pool is still a few degrees shy of where you want it to be, you can keep your pool from getting so hot during the summer.

If your pool is fully in the sun, you will still end up dealing with excessively hot temperatures at some point in the summer, but you can delay this by making sure you remove the solar cover early. And when the fall rolls around and you are trying to keep your pool warm, you will want to do the same thing as you did in the spring – keeping the solar cover on any time you are not using the pool – but you will want to put the solar cover on before the temperature drops to your desired level.

When you follow these tips, you will have no problem keeping the temperature in your pool right where you want it.
